I designed and painted over a dozen custom murals and some duplicate stages of the murals for this film. The murals were then applied to a sandstone wall in such a way to preserve the sandstone once filming was completed.
The scenes on this stage were all shot to be black and white. I designed it in such a way to translate into a monochromatic world, yet I wanted to bring a sense of uneasiness to the cast and crew by decorating it in various shades of ever so slightly clashing greens. We brought an unsettling sense of scale with the painted stripes found on the wall, taped off and hand painted at strange intervals.
Cat Murals in a child’s bedroom. These are her two favorite childhood kitties, “Tito” and “Pewpetua”.
For this proof of concept video for a youtube channel, we painted this 12'x20' length of vinyl flooring to look universally grassy and mossy. I considered this floor to be the biggest watercolor I have ever painted.
This 8'x8' foam wall came about because the commercial concept called for a lifesize anatomical diagram to display proper placement of their products, a menstrual cup and menstrual disc. I had the most excellent crew for this one, including Stephen McManus, an excellent scenic painter, Melissa Mae, artist creator extraordinaire, and Michael Frazier, extreme craftsman.
Custom Tiger Eyes painting, Approx 4’h x 6’w. Originally painted for an Oreo commercial, it has been featured in several different commercials, features, campaigns.
For this set, we built the walls and painted them with custom murals. On one wall, we painted a long necked dinosaur skeleton. On the other corner, the caffeine molecule.
For this documentary, we needed to recreate some scenes, namely an impoverished apartment in Turkey, an ancestral Syrian home living room, an antiquity looter's office, and an internet cafe. In our quick timeline, we built and painted the concrete room, shot it, and as soon as we wrapped, we repainted it and swapped it over the ancestral home, cutting a new window and adjusting both openings to have archways.
